HealthSouth Nittany Valley Celebrates National Stroke Awareness Month with Big Froggy 101.1


In observance of National Stroke Awareness Month, HealthSouth Nittany Valley participated in a live broadcast with  local radio personality Jerry Valeri of Big Froggy 101.1  centered around stroke prevention and rehabilitation. During the themed broadcast, Jerry spoke to the director of therapy operations about the specialized therapies and technologies available to patients following a stroke.

Stroke survivor, Michael Tingue, of Centre County visited during the broadcast, celebrating his incredible progress with Occupational Therapist, Christy Vuchenich. Michael began his journey of recovery at HealthSouth Nittany Valley as an inpatient, and upon discharge, he continued with outpatient therapy to improve the functioning of his right arm and hand.
