HealthSouth Nittany Valley Director of Therapy to Present Safe Driving and Seniors
PLEASANT GAP, Pa. – HealthSouth Nittany Valley Rehabilitation Hospital is celebrating Older Driver Safety Awareness Week Dec. 4 – 8, an observance led by the American Occupational Therapy Association to remind the community about the importance of driver safety and the resources available for older drivers. On Tuesday, Dec. 12 from 5:30 – 7 p.m., the community is invited to hear from HealthSouth Nittany Valley’s Director of Therapy Operations Tracy Stoltz, OTR/L, on the topic of “Safe Driving and Seniors.
“There are many impairments that come with getting older including vision issues, delays in response time and fatigue. Knowing when it is not safe for you or your loved one to be driving is not only important for the safety of your loved one, but also any others on the road,” said Stoltz. “Having a better understanding on this topic will help you make better judgement and provide peace of mind for the older driver in your life.”
The event will be held in coordination with the Adult Children of Aging Parents – Centre County at the Best Western Plus University Park Inn & Suites at 115 Premier Drive in State College. Other event sponsors include Foxdale Village, Grane Hospice Care, Grane Home Health Care, Juniper Village at Brookline and PennState Health.
This event is provided at no cost, but registration is appreciated by calling 1-877-599-2227 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
